Job Summary
The Analytics Consultant will play a key role in delivering high-quality data, analytics, and digital solutions across TYLin’s Advisory Practice, supporting projects in asset management, resilience strategy, feasibility and planning, financial analysis, and organizational performance. This role focuses on transforming raw data into actionable insights through modern analytics platforms, reproducible workflows, and clear visual communication.
The ideal candidate combines technical capability (SQL, Python, GIS, BI tools) with curiosity, attention to detail, and a service-oriented mindset. This person will work collaboratively with subject-matter experts, project managers, and clients to solve problems, streamline data processes, and enable more informed decision-making.
This position reports to the Lead Consultant for Water Asset Management, and plays a key role in mentoring and developing TYLin’s growing team of asset management professionals.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Develop queries, data pipelines, and repeatable workflows using SQL and Python.
- Build high-quality dashboards and reports using Power BI or Tableau to communicate insights and track performance.
- Perform statistical analysis, data cleaning, and exploratory modeling to support decision-making across Advisory projects.
- Use GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar) to support spatial analysis, mapping, and geospatial data management.
- Implement version control, documentation, and quality-assurance practices to ensure transparent, reproducible analytics.
- Contribute to TYLin’s asset management playbooks, tools, and templates to ensure consistency and excellence in delivery.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data science, analytics, computer science, geography/GIS, economics, or a related field.
- 2–5+ years of experience applying analytics in consulting, business, utilities, public sector, or similar fields (open to broader backgrounds with demonstrated capability).
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL concepts, and quality-assurance practices.
- Proficiency in SQL and/ or Python for data manipulation, analysis, and automation. Familiarity with or interest in R, JavaScript, or other analytical languages/tools is a plus.
- Experience building dashboards in Power BI or Tableau and with GIS platforms (ESRI preferred) for spatial data workflows.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
