Dow Thailand is opening for Analytical Technician, based in Asia Industrial estate, Rayong. You will work at our Analytical Tech Center by focusing within a single or across multiple plant laboratories. You will perform non-routine and routine complex analyses. Ensure the effective operation of analytical systems and the lab’s adherence to ODMS (Operational Document & Management System). Assure the quality of analytical data provided to produce and release products. Implement and verify the performance of new equipment
Responsibilities:
- Review analytical requests for value and alignment with goals
- Route analytical requests to the appropriate service provider
- Implement response plans for requests
- Schedule and perform work according to the Sample Plan, Emergency Contingency Plans, maintenance and Quality Control schedules
- Schedule and perform advanced calibrations and maintenance of analytical systems
- Perform in-depth troubleshooting of analytical systems.
- Collect samples that involve complex procedures
- Perform non-routine and complex routine analyses
- Monitor analytical systems, evaluate validity of data, apply statistics, interpret results, and take appropriate action
- Document, communicate, and archive analytical results, calibration and maintenance data
- Partner with the On-line Analyzer Technician to assure consistency of on- and off-line data
- Perform first line troubleshooting of laboratory Information Technology (IT) and data handling systems.
- Monitor and maintain calibration standards and consumable items
- Manage raw material and product retain samples
- Help troubleshoot plant and customer problems
- Implement and verify the performance of new equipment
- Assist in adapting and implementing laboratory IT and data handling systems to the needs of the unit
- Continuously improving EH&S and analytical performance
- Participate in reviews to identify opportunities to optimize the number of analyses performed on-line and in the lab
- Follow and train others on the Analytical Work Process (AWP), analytical systems, and EH&S and ODMS procedures
- Network with others to leverage technology, and problem solving and prevention.
Qualifications:
- High Vocational Education with Chemical industry, Industrial technology. Chemistry or related coursework
- New grad – 2 years of experience in Chemical industry
- Be able to use Microsoft office (word, excel, presentation etc.)
- Advanced in English communication with reading and writing skills
Preferred Skills:
- Laboratory Analytical Techniques: Developing new analytical methods and validating existing ones to ensure they are suitable for their intended purpose. This includes optimizing methods for accuracy, precision, and sensitivity.
- Laboratory Instrumentation & Operations: Setting up, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory instruments to ensure they are functioning correctly. This includes routine checks and preventive maintenance to avoid equipment failures.
- Safety standards: Being familiar with MSDS, emergency procedures such as spill response, fire safety, and first aid. This includes knowing the location and proper use of safety equipment like fire extinguishers and eyewash stations.
- Calibration system: Knowledge and using appropriate standards and reference materials to calibrate instruments and validate their performance.
- Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work: Maintaining an accurate inventory of laboratory supplies and ensuring that necessary materials are available when needed, regular stock checks and timely reordering of supplies. Identifying and prioritizing tasks based on their importance and urgency. This involves distinguishing between high-priority tasks that need immediate attention and lower-priority tasks that can be scheduled for later.
- Troubleshooting: Implementing solutions to fix issues, which may involve repairing equipment, adjusting processes, or consulting with technical support.
- Data Validation: Comparing data sets to ensure consistency across different measurements and experiments.
- Communication: Clear and concise reporting is essential for effective communication. And working effectively with other team members, including scientists, engineers, and technicians by sharing information, providing support, and contributing to team goals.
