MUFG is seeking an Analyst, Transaction Banking Trade Product to join their team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Transaction Banking (TB) offers essential banking products and services for corporate clients, including channels and accounts for Trade & Supply Chain Finance and Cash Management.

This encompasses liquidity management, payments, collections, trade and supply chain finance.

What You'll Do:

As an Analyst, Transaction Banking Trade Product, you will support the full lifecycle of trade products. Your responsibilities include collaborating with regional teams to drive revenue growth, manage financial performance, and contribute to strategic initiatives. You’ll use your analytical skills to monitor metrics, provide actionable insights through reporting, and ensure all products meet compliance standards. By engaging with sales teams and stakeholders, you’ll develop innovative client solutions while improving operational efficiency. Balancing commercial objectives with risk management will be critical to delivering value internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

  • Aim to achieve Transaction Banking revenue targets for Trade and/or Cash products.

  • Manage product Profit and Loss.

  • Track and analyse product revenue MIS with TB Regional Product Management.

  • Contribute to TB global projects and execute TB Asia Pacific strategy locally.

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for managed products.

  • Align in-country product strategy with regional and global strategies.

  • Develop TB products per the Product Roadmap with TB Asia Pacific and local management.

  • Engage with Sales and Coverage to ensure market-fit products.

  • Collaborate with Regional Product Management on investments.

  • Analyse risk and rewards for product development.

  • Enhance operational efficiencies to streamline processes or improve client turn-around times.

  • Adhere to Product Approval Governance Procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with risk and compliance policies; address risk/audit issues. Manage information control to prevent leakage and serious incidents.

  • Complete internal and regulatory reporting promptly.

What You Will Bring:

To excel in this role, you’ll bring experience from the financial services sector—ideally working with trade finance solutions. You should have both technical expertise in these products and practical involvement in their commercialisation or management. Strong analytical skills are essential for interpreting complex data sets while maintaining a focus on compliance. Your interpersonal skills will enable seamless collaboration across departments, whether supporting sales or liaising with project teams. A solid educational foundation underpins your expertise, but your commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing truly sets you apart.

Requirements:

  • At least one year of experience in sales or product management within transaction banking, focusing on trade finance or cash management products.

  • Proven success in managing trade cash products, including involvement in product development or commercialisation.

  • Technical knowledge of trade finance instruments such as letters of credit (LCs), LC discounting, bank guarantees, standby LC, Accounts Receivables Payable Schemes (ARPS) and so forth.

  • Awareness of risk profiles associated with transaction banking products and familiarity with regulatory requirements.

  • Experience conducting financial analysis using MIS tools to track revenue performance and inform strategy.

  • Ability to act as a subject matter expert on global or regional projects while aligning local plans with organisational strategies.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective engagement with sales teams, stakeholders, and cross-functional partners.

  • Attention to detail when handling internal controls, information security measures, incident reporting protocols, and regulatory submissions.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in finance or business administration.
