What You'll Be Doing
As an Analyst, Equity Markets Trade Control, you'll play a key role in supporting global trading activities within Capital Markets, focusing on Equity Markets products. You'll ensure that all transactions initiated by the Front Office are accurately and completely booked into the appropriate systems. You'll independently confirm and verify direct external transactions, adhering to industry best practices. Your responsibilities include monitoring trading activities, investigating discrepancies, and advising on any new business developments as required. By maintaining rigorous controls and providing timely support, you'll contribute to the integrity and efficiency of our trading operations.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $65,000 to $69,000.
The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.
In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

How You’ll Succeed
Client Post-Trade Communication and Trade Support – Liaise with clients, traders, business operations, and back office teams to ensure timely trade settlement and resolve trade fails, including buy-ins. Accurately input trade allocations for matching, following established control procedures to detect and address errors or omissions in trade capture.
Reporting, Reconciliation, and Record Keeping – Run daily reports, reconcile trader inventories, exchange and depository trades, intercompany accounts, and foreign exchange transactions. Maintain organized records of daily controls to support audit and compliance requirements.
Business Acumen and Collaboration – Maintain a strong understanding of Capital Markets products and processes. Partner with peers and stakeholders to deliver timely results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where sharing knowledge and skills is valued.
Attention to Detail and Responsiveness – Demonstrate focused attention when reviewing trade information in booking systems. Respond quickly to requests from the trading floor, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all activities.
Who You Are
You have an undergraduate university degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
You have 1–3 years of relevant experience. You’ve gained hands-on experience within financial services, working with Capital Markets products.
You have strong business acumen and industry knowledge. You bring a solid understanding of equity products, including operational and settlement practices for stocks and options. Your expertise enables you to accurately and promptly respond to queries about trade details and discrepancies.
You’re technically savvy. You’re proficient in SQL, VBA, Python, and Excel, and you use these tools to reconcile datasets from different sources accurately and efficiently. Knowledge of Broadridge, Fidessa, CTM, CDS, DTC, SSCNet is an asset.
You communicate with impact. You communicate clearly and effectively with back office teams, investigations officers, traders, marketers, and middle office colleagues to address trade bookings and amendments.
You are a problem solver. You demonstrate strong analytical thinking and initiative when responding to non-routine queries and resolving complex issues.
You are passionate about people. You have strong interpersonal skills and excel at building relationships and working collaboratively within a team.
