Manulife’s Global Sustainability team is seeking an Analyst, Sustainability & Climate Data to support the collection, QA, consolidation and analysis of the organization’s sustainability, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and environmental impact data. The role contributes to maintaining an audit-ready data foundation for internal reporting and external disclosures, and supports benchmarking, ad-hoc research and continuous improvement of data processes.
The ideal candidate has working knowledge of sustainability data and GHG accounting (e.g., GHG Protocol; PCAF is an asset), strong analytical skills, and a collaborative approach to working with teams across the company.
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Manager, Climate & Sustainability and will join a collaborative team of sustainability professionals, working cross-functionally to drive measurable impact and reinforce Manulife’s leadership in climate and sustainability.

Position Responsibilities:
Collect, consolidate and QA Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions data; document assumptions, methodologies and calculations.
Maintain a controlled carbon-accounting data pipeline, including reconciliations, version control and audit-ready evidence.
Maintain sustainability/climate data governance, controls and process documentation (definitions, owners and data-quality rules).
Partner with data contributors (e.g., Finance, Procurement, Real Estate) to enable timely, complete submissions and resolve gaps and anomalies.
Prepare inputs for disclosures/ratings (e.g., CDP, S&P, MSCI) and internal reporting; ensure consistency across outputs.
Conduct peer/market benchmarking of climate and sustainability metrics, targets and disclosures; summarize key insights.
Deliver ad-hoc research and analysis on climate/sustainability topics; translate findings into clear recommendations.
Support stakeholder engagement and third-party assurance by coordinating requests and compiling evidence; respond to assurer inquiries.
Coordinate with compliance and audit to support controls testing and assurance activities for sustainability/climate metrics.
Maintain the sustainability data management system, including metric protocols and data-integrity improvements.
Track emerging standards and regulations (e.g., GHG Protocol, ISSB/IFRS S2, OSFI B-15) and translate requirements into reporting/data enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
Post secondary education in sustainability, environmental science, accounting, finance, or related field.
2+ years of experience in carbon accounting, environmental management, or related fields.
Expertise in GHG protocol and PCAF methodology.
Proven track record of leading carbon accounting and reporting initiatives.
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and standards (e.g., CDP, ISSB, OSFI B15).
Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
Strong people skills with ability to develop and maintain strong relationships internally and externally.
Excellent project management ability, multi-tasking and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working at a financial institution.
Proficiency with Excel, PowerBI and Alteryx or other relevant data analytics tools.
Experience with data collection platforms (i.e. Workiva).
Experience using AI to improve workflows.

Salary range is expected to be between
$62,850.00 CAD - $104,750.00 CADEmployees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
