Your Opportunity

One Permanent Full Time Position.   

We are seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join our Supply & Trading team, focusing on Eastern Power and Gas Markets. This includes PJM, NYISO, MISO, SPP, and IESO. The role is critical to supporting trading and origination activities through market analysis, pricing, and risk assessment.

You will contribute to our team by

  • Analyze Eastern U.S. and Canadian power and gas markets, including fundamentals, congestion, and basis trends.
  • Develop and maintain pricing models for physical and financial products, including real options valuation.
  • Support trading strategies with quantitative analysis and scenario modeling.
  • Manage large datasets and perform advanced analytics using Excel, Python, SQL, Databricks, and Snowflake.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior stakeholders on market outlook and portfolio performance.
  • Collaborate with traders and originators to identify opportunities and optimize positions.

What you will bring to the role:

    

Education:

  • Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or Business.
  • Advanced quantitative degrees are preferred. 

Experience: 

  • Experience: 3–5 years in power or related markets, preferably with exposure to PJM, NYISO, MISO, SPP, and IESO.
  • Strong understanding of power and gas fundamentals and real options pricing.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, and programming experience in Python and SQL; familiarity with Databricks and Snowflake.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Technical & Social Process Skills:

  • Experience with congestion trading.
  • Knowledge of swaps, options, and other structured products.
  • Familiarity with ISO settlements and market operations.
  • Exposure to risk management tools and portfolio optimization techniques.

Working Conditions:

  • In-office position with limited travel required
  • Location: Calgary
