About the position

We have a great opportunity to join Specialised Lending Transaction Management as Analyst. Specialised Lending Transaction Management is the center of expertise for all structured credit transactions originated with clients of WB Sectors. We are a team of 25+ skilled and well-rounded bankers of all seniority levels, which allows for the best deal outcomes for both client and bank.

This is a junior WB Lending professional role within the front office, with a strong focus on Project Finance. As a member of the Specialised Lending Transaction Management team, you will support and work closely with PAMs and/or Deal Principals (“DPs”). The work will be fast-paced and multifaceted. On the team, you will be exposed to and work with different colleagues from those sectors to which ING provides non-recourse project finance facilities.

The role involves regular contact with clients, prospects, other banks, technical and legal advisors as well as frequent cooperation with internal departments such as Credit Risk Management, Legal, Loan Distribution, Deal Execution, etc..

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and efficient processing of credit approval packages, including reviewing due diligence, including summarizing and performing analytics
  • Analysis of different transaction structures
  • Preparing business comparables and analysis of debt structures, performance metrics and debt pricing
  • Writing Greenlight memos, presentation and discussion with Risk Management 
  • Building financial models with sensitivity analysis and validation of key assumptions
  • Running internal models including risk ratings and loan pricing, and interfacing with risk management to establish the appropriate internal risk rating
  • Interfacing with loan operations and compliance with internal policies
  • Term sheet negotiations
  • Attending meetings and calls with customers including transaction-related due diligence
  • Assisting with reviewing legal documentation and validating key terms & conditions
  • Responsibility for deal closing including final CPs and obtaining the final loan documents
  • Ensuring a consistent level of quality and policy compliance through training and development activities
  • Staying current on organizational operating policies and procedures (i.e. Risk, Legal, etc.)
  • Working with and mentor Analysts and Interns by supporting them in their personal and professional development as lending professionals

Qualifications and Competencies

Qualifications / Education

  • Master’s degree in finance/economics/accounting/management/engineering (or similar); CFA a plus

Experience / Knowledge

  • 0-2 years of relevant WB lending experience or field experience

Competencies

  • Collaborative and inclusive team player with consistent high marks on Orange Code behaviour; embracing diversity and cross-cultural awareness and able to work effectively across functions
  • Strong interest in project finance and openness to other finance structures
  • Prior sector knowledge and/or exposure to corporate and/or project finance lending would be a plus
  • Strong analytical and writing skills
  • Financial modelling skills are a plus
  • Authentic and confident presentation and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a deal-oriented and deadline-driven environment
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanor
