The Investment Application Support team at OMERS Data and Technology (D&T) is responsible for providing technical support and solutions for the investment applications used by OMERS Capital Markets. The team works closely with the business users, vendors, and internal IT teams to ensure the availability, performance, and functionality of the applications. The team also participates in projects related to application upgrades, enhancements, and integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform application maintenance tasks, such as patching, configuration, and testing.

  • Collaborate with the business users, vendors, and internal IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, and to implement changes and enhancements.

  • Document and maintain the application support processes, procedures, and knowledge base.

  • Participate in projects related to application upgrades, enhancements, and integrations, and provide input on the design, testing, deployment, and on-going support of the solutions.

  • Adhere to the IT policies, standards, and best practices, and ensure compliance with the regulatory and audit requirements.

  • Onboard new applications through legal, procurement, testing, implementation and support

  • Manage OMERS Capital Markets (OCM) and Capital Markets Finance (CMF) SharePoints

  • Manage all banking portals for OMERS

  • Manage all external investments applications and service bureaus

  • Work with procurement and legal for contract renewals

  • Manage day-to-day support of OCM and CMF users

  • Onboarding and offboarding of OCM and CMF users

  • Manage escalations on behalf of OCM and CMF to D&T and vendors

  • Work with procurement to procure new hardware including testing and ensuring we are getting what we need

  • Represent OCM and CMF interests in larger D&T meetings such as the change meetings

  • Manage vendor infrastructure on-site (i.e. BT Radianz & Bloomberg)

  • Manage OCM annual ARS and HA tests

  • Manage OCM hardware and investment application licenses

  • Central point of contact for our vendors

  • Single point of contact for OCM/CMF and D&T

  • Single point of contact for our vendors and Service Bureaus

  • Ensure OCM needs are met when doing renovations (including moves to new offices)

  • Work with Platform Engineering team to package OCM applications

  • Snowflake user management

To succeed in this role: 

  • University or College degree, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or Mathematics is a plus, other programs will be considered

  • 2-5 years of experience providing support to high-demand users in a fast-paced environment

  • Familiarity with investments industry terminology, base understanding of capital markets and trading floor technology is a strong plus

  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office products

  • Working knowledge and understanding of various network architecture components (i.e. TCPIP, Windows Domains and Active Directory concepts, DNS servers, switches, routers, print servers, etc.) 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues and recommend solutions 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills to deal with users of varying levels of technology expertise 

  • Organizational skills to prioritize work and track the status of multiple activities 

  • Be an excellent team player
