About the team and position
Carvana is seeking an analytical individual to assist us in creating and maintaining compliant processes for teams across the organization. This individual possesses outstanding investigative process and problem-solving skills with the ability to present actionable solutions.  Our ideal candidate would have a passion for process improvement,  an eye for detail and a thorough knowledge of industry standards.

This is a fully on-site position, Monday through Friday, at our corporate HQ in Tempe, Arizona.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for a specific group of states, serving as the go-to resource for dealership-related questions and issues.
  • Conduct in-depth research on state-specific rules, regulations, forms, and fees, ensuring that all internal resources are accurate and up to date.
  • Work directly with internal business partners to address escalations and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Lead or participate in various projects, managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Utilize software systems like Jira and Google Suite to track work, manage projects, and collaborate seamlessly with team members.
  • Provide clear and concise updates to senior leadership on key regulatory changes and their potential impact on our operations.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal teams.
  • Identify and investigate issues that require follow-up, and recommend solutions to mitigate risk and ensure adherence to state rules.
  • Consistently operate with the intent to reduce legal risk while maintaining a positive reputation for Carvana.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

What you should have/know

  • 2+  years of experience with quality control, regulatory or compliance operations. 
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure all aspects of the department are meeting legal standards.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with different teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize/re-prioritize multiple projects and/or deadlines in a fast-paced and constantly shifting work environment on short notice.
  • Enthusiasm and energy to contribute to and thrive in a rapidly growing start-up atmosphere where roles continually adapt as the company evolves.
  • Appetite for self-initiation to pre-emptively research issues on the company’s horizon.
  • Strong background in problem-solving and continuous improvement processes.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and application of principles, concepts and practices of government regulations and standards is preferred.
  • Lover of dashboards, data, and metrics and comfortable using Google Suite, Jira and Wrike
