Position Overview:

We are seeking an Analyst, Portfolio Solutions to join our Equity Portfolio Management (EPM) team. In this role, you will contribute to projects at the intersection of portfolio management, client delivery, and operational support. Responsibilities include assisting with investment simulations, responding to portfolio manager inquiries, supporting account onboarding, and helping maintain strategy documentation. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across investment, data, legal, and client service teams, gaining broad exposure to the firm’s investment process and client-facing activities. This position is a great opportunity to develop a strong foundation in portfolio solutions while contributing to enhancements in the tools and processes that support our clients and investment teams.

Acadian supports a hybrid work environment; employees are on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.


What You’ll Do:

Innovation, Investments and Growth

  • Develop a strong understanding of the Acadian equity investment process.
  • Assist in maintaining and enhancing tools used to visualize data and information that support investment insights (e.g., simulations, portfolio oversight, research).
  • Contribute to refining workflow processes by identifying areas for efficiency and consistency.

Process & Platform Support

  • Support the administration and day-to-day use of internal PM tools and workflows, including the PMR (Portfolio Management Request) queue and process documentation.
  • Assist in compiling inputs and coordinating timelines for quarterly reporting processes, including PM updates and commentary.
  • Assist with client onboarding processes by coordinating with Sales, Legal, Ops, and Compliance to help ensure new mandates are set up accurately.
  • Provide support during quarterly rollout processes for model and process enhancements, helping coordinate communications and materials.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work with internal stakeholders (Investment Analytics and Data, Client Communications, Product, Marketing, and Compliance) to support information flow between the PM team and other groups.
  • Assist in coordinating recurring client-facing deliverables (e.g., quarterly commentary, strategy metrics, stock examples), helping ensure timely and accurate delivery.

Simulation Support

  • Contribute to simulation workflows by preparing data, running analytics, and reviewing outputs to support client and PM team needs.
  • Help maintain and refine simulation templates, working with other teams to improve usability and consistency.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Assist in maintaining strategy documentation, onboarding protocols, and cross-functional processes.
  • Support knowledge transfer efforts by ensuring process notes and documentation are clear, accurate, and up to date.

We’re Looking for Teammates With:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related STEM field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in asset management, for example in investment operations, client onboarding, internal product/project management, or cross-functional delivery roles.
  • Prior exposure to and interest in institutional investment processes, for example portfolio construction and implementation, investment guidelines, etc.
  • Familiarity with key tools and systems (e.g., Confluence, Python, Git) and comfort interacting with IT/data teams.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills—able to work across investment and non-investment functions to drive outcomes.
  • Enthusiasm for improving how teams operate, bringing fresh ideas, operational discipline, and a collaborative spirit.

The base salary range for this role is $100,000 – $120,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and relevant experience. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and includes participation in Acadian’s comprehensive benefits program, which includes health, retirement, and wellness offerings.
