What you bring:

To excel as a Analyst, Payroll Specialist (Fixed Term Contract) at MUFG, you will bring not only technical expertise but also strong interpersonal qualities that enable you to thrive in a collaborative environment. Your background should include substantial experience in generalist HR roles—ideally within shared service centres—where you have advised managers according to policy frameworks while balancing risk with opportunity. Familiarity with modern case management systems like Workday will allow you to navigate complex queries efficiently. Your keen awareness of current employment legislation ensures compliance at every step; meanwhile your analytical mindset supports both routine payroll tasks and larger process improvement initiatives. You are adept at building trust through clear communication—whether coaching colleagues on new systems or resolving sensitive ER cases—and your professionalism underpins everything you do. Above all else, your commitment to continuous learning means you are always ready to adapt as regulations evolve or new challenges arise.

  • A degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field—or equivalent work experience demonstrating strong foundational knowledge.
  • Professional certification such as SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR is highly desirable for demonstrating your commitment to best practice standards.
  • Proven experience handling generalist HR functions including advisory roles within shared service centre environments where influencing skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and HR platforms such as Workday, ServiceNow, Salesforce, or similar case management tools.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint for daily operations and reporting.
  • Solid knowledge of local payroll processes and mandatory government benefits.
  • Demonstrated understanding of employment legislation (including HIPPA), banking regulations, data privacy requirements and their impact on employment practices.
  • Process mapping skills coupled with proven ability to suggest or implement process improvements that drive efficiency within the HR Team for Payroll and C&B.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy sufficient for complex letter writing, statistical analysis of performance data and detailed calculations required for payroll processing.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills enabling you to inform sensitively across all levels while maintaining confidentiality at every stage.
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively when managing projects or responsibilities simultaneously without compromising attention to detail.
