Overview of the Energy Team

Moelis & Company’s EMEA Energy team is responsible for originating and executing public and private transactions across the energy value chain. The team has a leading track record of advising on some of the largest M&A and capital markets transactions in the sector. Coverage of the entire energy value chain, including oil & gas, energy services & technology, energy infrastructure, and renewables. Based out of London - part of a global team of >70 energy investment bankers based across London, Houston and NY

Position Description:

We are looking for an experienced Analyst to join our EMEA Energy team. Analysts play a critical role in supporting deal execution and origination, conducting financial analysis, and preparing client-facing materials. You will gain exposure to cross-border transactions and work closely with senior bankers across multiple European markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Support senior bankers in deal origination and execution across EMEA, including preparing historical and projected financial statements.
  • Conduct financial and valuation analysis (DCF, comparable company, and precedent transaction analyses) for energy clients.
  • Assist in preparing client presentations, pitch materials, and deal documentation tailored to EMEA markets.
  • Analyse corporate operations, market trends, shareholder profiles, and portfolio performance across European and regional clients.
  • Prepare materials to support credit, compliance, engagement committee, and balance sheet approvals.
  • Take ownership of standard processes and contribute to the team’s operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 1+ years of professional experience, ideally in investment banking, corporate finance, or energy-focused advisory.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.
  • Intellectual curiosity and motivation to learn from senior bankers and contribute to complex transactions.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel, including building forecasts, valuations, and scenario analyses.
