Analyst Intern

Summary:

Provide support for any aspect of health & welfare benefits consulting as directed by staff consultants, including but not limited to: conducting research, preparing benefits calculations, coordinating with external vendors, and note-taking. Participate in job-shadowing of staff consultants and participate in the college hire training program.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Day to day support for vendor annual contract reviews, rate/coverage renewals, and Request for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Compile and analyze various forms of data including census information, health care plan design, utilization of services, etc.
  • Research emerging trends in the local/national healthcare market
  • Support B&B operations through ad-hoc data analysis projects
  • Support benchmarking projects on behalf of employer clients
  • Provide analytic and technical support to client teams, using suite of Microsoft Office products, including Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Shadow members of client teams to learn about the role of an employee benefits consultant
  • Assist client teams with preparing portions of client deliverables or with notetaking during client virtual meetings
  • Support firm’s compliance project work for calculating specific benefit taxes and coordinating delivery of calculation to each client team
  • Coordinate meetings with internal partners, vendors, and/or clients
  • Conduct research using firm-provided resources for client questions, as directed by teams.
  • Participate in office social events to network with an array of the consulting staff
  • Participate in portions of the College Hire Training program
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or currently enrolled in an undergraduate program
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Interest in human resources and benefits
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Strong math and statistics skills

Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis:

  • Manual dexterity, arm, and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse, and telephone 7-8 hours per day.
  • Speech and hearing sufficient for in-person and telephone communication 7-8 hours per day.
  • Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.
  • Ability to sit at a desk 7 – 8 hours per day.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.

Pay Range

21.00 - 21.00 Hourly

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
