What you'll be doing
The US Data Management Office is responsible for establishing data as a strategic asset for CIBC US Region, further enhancing data governance, building out our data and analytic capabilities, and developing the US Region data management strategy.
The Data Operations Analyst will be a key member of the Data Operations team, working to use their technical acumen, organizational skills, and critical thinking to work collaboratively across the US Data Management Office. The ideal candidate will have a high level of attention to detail, be able to effectively work while switching contexts, and not be afraid to ask why. The role will work within our US Data Management Office, reporting to the Manager, Data Operations, and will support the execution of the US Data Strategy initiative. This position will focus on different areas with in Data Management, with a focus on Data Operations, Data Catalog, Governance, and Quality. You contribute to our suite of automation tools, with a focus on Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI). Develop, maintain, and enhance the organization’s data catalog, ensuring accurate metadata, classification, and lineage documentation. Collaborate with data stewards and governance teams to ensure data quality, compliance, and security standards are met. Establish and enforce metadata standards and best practices for cataloging data assets.
Additionally you document processes, both the creation of new ones and updates made to existing ones. Participate in month end reconciliation activities to ensure data accuracy and integrity in financial and operational reporting. Engage with the Data Operations team to ideate on new ideas and initiatives. Take part in discussions with stakeholders across the business to convert business requirements into technical details.

Who you are
You’re a professional with 2-4 years of experience, preferably in the Financial Services industry with knowledge on commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within data analytics, data governance, and business intelligence. You can demonstrate experience in the following SQL, BI Tools, Excel, Data catalog tools, Power Platform (PowerApps & PowerAutomate).
It’s an asset if you have knowledge of. Python, Databricks, Version Control Systems, JIRA/ADO and Project management experience in data-related initiatives.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $75000 - $90000 for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
