About the Role

This position is part of the Athleta Finance team and responsible for Financial Margin/COS Spread and DC/Supply Chain expenses for Athleta. As an omni-channel brand with a single pool of inventory, this position holds unique visibility to many costs across our product lifecycle that impact the financial margin of the brand. This role provides an opportunity to develop a strong understanding of the complexities of moving units through an omni-channel business, provides broad exposure to multiple functions across the organization, assures compliance with rules required by GAAP, and plays a critical part in ensuring Athleta continues to grow profitably and sustainably. This position reports to the Manager of FP&A.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and analyze several COS Spread & DC line items for Forecast, Close, & Budget
    • Maintain and update forecast/budget models for several P&L items under manager guidance, as well as partner closely with several Gap Inc central functions and act as the Athleta brand finance liaison for those accounts  
    • Partner with Company Planning, Inventory Management, and Inventory Control Finance on below-cost inventory
    • Partner with Production & GIS on the Fabric Liability and prepare the materials for the quarterly Fabric Liability Review with Leadership
  • Identify and research variances to forecast, budget and prior year income/expenses, and proactively escalating findings
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization
  • Support Manager with monthly FP&A deliverables including Forecast, Close, Budget and ad hoc analyses as needed

Who You Are

  • You can prepare and explain core financial outputs (such as P&L results, variance drivers, or forecast changes) with accuracy and attention to detail
  • You have hands on experience working with financial systems or planning tools, like Essbase and Anaplan, such as building inputs, running reports, or checking results in enterprise platforms (e.g., planning, forecasting, or reporting systems)
  • You’re able to work with data to answer business questions, using tools like Excel or analytics platforms to organize information, identify patterns, and summarize what matters
  • You learn new systems and processes quickly, follow established controls, and ask thoughtful questions to ensure work is accurate and complete
  • You communicate clearly and respectfully, sharing insights, raising risks, and collaborating with partners to support deadlines and deliverable
  • Team player with a positive attitude - must be flexible, open to cross-training and leaning in as needed across the team
