Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of sensitive data inventories, ensuring accurate classification and documentation of personal and regulated data types (e.g., PII, PHI, financial data).
- Apply privacy taxonomies and models to categorize data by type, subject, jurisdiction, retention, and processing purpose.
- Manage data inventory workflows and provide application support for data governance tools.
- Oversee and support policy-compliant data programs and privacy initiatives across the organization.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and remediate data privacy risks.
- Participate in planning sessions to align data inventory efforts with evolving privacy regulations and organizational metrics.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of privacy regulations and best practices.
Required/Desired Skills
- Must have 5+ years of strong expertise in data classification, privacy impact assessments, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, validating, and analyzing data sets.
- Experience with data governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, OneTrust, BigID, Informatica).
- Familiarity with metadata management, data mapping, and data lineage tracking.
- Experience working with access control and identity governance tools (e.g., SailPoint, Okta, Azure AD).
- Basic knowledge of cloud environments and data storage principles.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ability to work proactively.
- Strong team collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of additional privacy or data management regulations is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPM, CDMP) are advantageous.
