Analyst, Data Assets
As the Analyst, Data Assets, you will collaborate with data owners, stewards, and custodians across our organization to ensure that the content, structure, and context of all data assets and related data lineage is clear and understood. You will be at the forefront of managing our organization's data catalogue, overseeing the development, maintenance, and enhancement of a centralized repository for data assets and for developing, maintaining, and enhancing our organization's business glossary. You will also work with various teams to establish and enforce reference data standards and play a key role in managing and maintaining reference data sets critical to the organization's operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and will take pride in their documentation. They will have a collaborative attitude and work in a cross-functional team to ensure that data is fully leveraged across the organizations.
This role is based at our temporary location of 20 York Mills Rd, then the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Toronto Corporate Office, reporting to the Manager, Data Assets & Standards.
This role involves interactions with primarily internal stakeholders to include Data Stewards and Custodians across organization, IT, Delivery, Data Engineering and Analytics teams, as well as external vendors.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist in the implementation of relevant data governance policies and work closely with data stewards to enforce standards for data assets
- Work with data stewards/owners/custodians to curate metadata within Informatica CDGC, ensuring accurate data asset documentation, lineage, and business context so that any updates are constantly reflected within central repository
- Review metadata tags and data classification to enhance discoverability and ensure proper use of data
- Monitor and track usage of data assets to understand and report on patterns and trends
- Generate reports on data asset utilization and identify opportunities to optimize usage
- Manage and maintain reference data sets in informatica as a central source of truth to, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Assist in creating and maintaining documentation for reference data standards and procedures
- Collaborate with data stewards to update and validate reference data regularly and resolve any data issues
- Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive business glossary that clearly aligns business terms with source data elements
- Collaborate with business units and subject matter experts to define and document business terms
- Support other DG team members, Data Stewards, and Data Owners to resolve data quality and integrity issues.

- Efficient use of data by stakeholders to minimize burden of data collection and maximize insights development
- Current and complete reference data to ensure data integrity across data assets

- Working knowledge of cloud computing platforms. MS Azure preferred (Microsoft Synapse, Azure Data factory, Azure Data Lake, PowerBI)
- Proficient in SQL or other programming languages
- Experience with data visualization and dashboarding (Power BI, Tableau)
- Expert in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., data management, information technology, data analytics, business analytics, informatics).

This role will be a Hybrid working model, which will require 3 days per week at our temporary 20 York Mills Road, Toronto, Ontario location with travel, as needed, to our the Four Seasons Corporate Office located at 1165 Leslie Street, Toronto, Ontario #LI-Hybrid
