About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Portfolio Risk Analyst to support the Consumer Compliance Risk Assessment (CCRA) team within Structured Products Group (SPG). The CCRA team performs due diligence on SPG clients receiving credit backed by consumer finance receivables, supporting risk management across multiple SPG lines of business. This role will lead strategic initiatives, deliver advanced analytics and reporting, and support data-driven risk assessments through complex data analysis, automation, and process enhancement.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead and manage projects and strategic initiatives supporting CCRA due diligence and portfolio oversight. This includes SAS development, benchmarking, process optimization, automation, testing new technologies, and other special projects.
  • Partner with stakeholders across SPG lines of business to communicate project status, timelines, risks, and outcomes.
  • Design, build, and maintain complex SQL queries and SAS programs to support business analysis using large, multi-source datasets, including structured and unstructured internal and external (client-provided) data.
  • Deliver client-level and portfolio-level reporting for supported lines of business, including trending analysis, benchmarking, dashboards, ad hoc analysis, and automated reporting solutions.
  • Provide data analysis and programming support, including maintaining and enhancing SAS programs, VBA macros, and Excel-based analytical tools.
  • Oversee receipt, processing, validation, and warehousing of external client data files received through multiple systems and formats.
  • Perform data integrity testing and validation using knowledge of supported business lines and applicable consumer finance regulations.
  • Support data transmission activities by managing relationships between Data Transmission Services (DTS) and external clients, resolving technical issues, and supporting data transmission conversions and ad hoc data connections.
  • Contribute analytical insights to formal CCRA reporting provided to SPG Senior Management, Deal Teams, and SPG Credit Risk Management within Independent Risk Management (IRM).


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in risk analytics, data analysis, portfolio management, compliance, or a related field


Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced experience with SQL and SAS programming, including working with large and complex datasets
  • Experience developing analytical reporting, dashboards, and automated reporting solutions
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends, risks, and insights
  • Proven experience managing projects and coordinating with stakeholders across multiple business lines
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VBA or macro development
  • Ability to work with external client data and perform data validation and quality controls
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience within financial services, credit risk, consumer finance, or structured products
  • Familiarity with consumer lending products, receivables, and related regulatory requirements
  • Experience supporting due diligence, risk assessments, or audit/compliance reviews
  • Exposure to PBI tools and data visualization platforms
  • Experience improving processes through automation or new technology implementation
  • Ability to operate independently while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
