Job Summary

Primarily responsible for ensuring various compliances as required under GST, SEZ and STPI laws. Performs calculation of tax liabilities, tax form preparation, and external filing/reporting duties and well as maintaining company tax records. These include preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual returns and reconciliations. Works with close supervision and develops in own area by performing routine work. The role requires in-depth experience, knowledge, and skills in tax laws, as well as the ability to manage priorities and act as a collaborative resource for cross functions.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare / review the tax computations and periodic GST returns
  • Take responsibility for ensuring their tax computations are prepared on a timely basis for review by senior colleagues
  • Understand requirements of the compliance cycle based on instructions received and timetable agreed to deliver work in accordance with those requirements
  • Liaise with the business unit and finance representatives to obtain information required to prepare tax computations.
  • Assist during the GST Audits or Assessments (including review of documents, liaise with tax authorities, preparation and submission of replies with relevant authorities, assistance during the verification of documents, etc.)
  • Guiding and advising the other functions on the concepts of Indirect tax
  • Identify and manage Bond cum Letter of Undertaking (BLuT) ledger
  • Assist in filing of Bill of Entry, DTA procurement form, DSPF and other forms as applicable
  • Manages and maintains all tax supporting documentation in an organized and secure fashion.
  • Assist with other ad hoc tax compliance work including tax accounting, Income-tax compliances and advisory.
  • Support in management reporting of financial operations for the entity.
  • Maintains and updates standard operating procedures.
  • Build an understanding and actively use company resources and technology in the compliance progress.
  • Consistent exercise of integrity, independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Serves as a trusted tax advisor to onsite resources, offers clear communications and collaboration with stakeholders in US and external firms/resources.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
  • Other duties, projects and responsibilities as assigned.
