Required Skills & Qualifications:
Ensures safe, accurate, timely, and efficient deliveries of GFS products.
Perform proper equipment maintenance, monitor reefer temperature, and report mechanical issues and damages in a timely manner.
Complete daily check-ins in a timely manner with no errors.
Collaborates with management and sales representatives to communicate customer concerns.
Perform daily pre/post trip inspection of vehicles and equipment. Completes check in process accurately and on time. Manage paperwork to include register, credits, pick-ups, etc.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with other GFS employees.
Maintains peer relationships in the field to share issues and ideas. Attending department meetings
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complete all Sales Service Representative (SSR) Delivery when required:
Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into the customer locations with the use of ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 - 1000 cases/shift)
Build and maintain good customer relationships. Demonstrates self-control.
Accurately collects customer payments. Safeguards company funds and follows GFS banking policies.
Performs all Sales Service functions by the 90th day of employment.
Complete all Transit Delivery when required:
Transports loaded and empty trailers from GFS Distribution Centers or from point-to-point via night transit in a timely manner (May be required to make deliveries while traveling between depot & DC)
Complete Backhauls from Vendors when necessary
Route Rescuing
Collaborates with the Supervisor and Leadership and/or dispatcher for work assignments, changes in assignments and on-time delivery performance.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Valid Class 1 license is a MUST
A minimum of 2 years of AZ driving experience is required.
Requires punctuality, problem solving and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently and also function in a team environment.
Must be goal oriented with a positive “can-do” attitude.
Ability to meet the physical demands of this job including lifting, pushing, pulling of products.
