Summary of This Role
Analyzes and evaluates the impact of government policies and regulations on the organization's activities and objectives. Researches, interprets, and analyzes proposed changes to regulations or government policy and prepares reports on how these changes may impact the organization. Prepares materials for meetings and other events involving government representatives to include executive summaries, point-papers, and talking points. Assists in the coordination of campus tours and meetings with elected officials and their staff. Directs inquiries from government representatives about the organization and its activities to a Subject Matter Expert (SME), as needed.
What Part Will You Play?
- Assists the Government Relations (GR) team with the research and monitoring of ongoing legislative/ regulatory actions, in each state the company does business, that directly impact the organization, with an increased scope to include additional focus across the payments and financial services industry. Reviews and analyzes research results for inclusion in informational products.
- Analyzes multiple state issues that impact the organization and payments industry and prepares evaluations for review. Assists GR team in identifying potential opportunities for advocacy. Builds knowledge of broader scope impact evaluations by gathering and reviewing data for the greater GR team.
- Supports the greater GR team in the preparation of informational products through research, compilation, and review efforts. Assists with the planning of special events including campus tours and meetings.
- Utilizes and maintains automated tools to collate notes, reports and GR literature to assist in tracking the status of legislation activities.
What Are We Looking For in This Role?
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Experience or Degree in: political science, economics, communications, law, public relations or equivalent; additional relevant experience in lieu of degree considered
- Typically Minimum 2 Years Relevant Exp
- paralegal, law clerk, internship with state/federal official; research librarian
