The team:

The compliance team of Northern Trust Global Services SE is in charge of:

  • Identifying, mapping and assessing the impacts of new regulations on financial services;

  • Building and conducting a monitoring plan on an annual basis;

  • Provide advisory to the business on regulatory topics;

  • Coordinating and following-up on correspondence with competent authorities in Luxembourg and across branches;

  • Reporting to governance forums and competent authorities on compliance topics.

Northern Trust Global Services SE is a credit institution supervised by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier in Luxembourg. It provides custody, depositary fund administration and capital markets services. NTGS SE is also preparing an extension of its scope of services to banking during 2026.

Reporting to NTGS SE’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer, the role will primarily focus on Anti -Money Laundering (AML) and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CTF) and International Financial Sanctions.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Deliver advisory support to NTGS SE business (in particular for Transfer Agency), in regard to the EU and Luxembourg regulation on AML/CTF and International Financial Sanctions, providing challenge to the business and escalation to the NTGS SE MLRO as necessary.

  • Undertaking Compliance monitoring reviews and follow-up on any identified compliance issue until completion.

  • Review and approval of PEP and high-risk clients.

  • Coverage of AML/CTF regulation becoming applicable (e.g. Wire Transfer Regulations) and sustaining the implementation of regulations (such as CSSF Circulars on EU and National Restrictive measures).

  • Produce and provide Compliance AML/CTF reporting including input to the annual Compliance report.

  • Contribute to the review cycle of the compliance policies and AML training content.

  • Contribute to the annual AML/CTF and Economic Sanctions risk assessments and map of rules.

  • Supporting the MLRO with other Compliance tasks, as arise.

Skills/Qualifications:

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Proven experience in Compliance or AML/CTF in the banking or asset servicing industry in Luxembourg.

  • Understanding of the regulatory requirements for AML/CTF and International Financial Sanctions within the EU and Luxembourg.

  • Understanding of Custody, Depositary, Transfer Agency and Banking.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently or work as part of a team;

  • Effective time management.

  • Very good written skills with an ability to prepare succinct risk reporting;

  • Well-developed verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively present and contribute in business meetings.
