AML Compliance Officer – Belgium (Work from home)

As AML Compliance Officer you will oversight the AML program applicable to the Western Union currency exchange activity offered at the Western Union stores in Belgium and Netherlands by ensuring oversight of the Monitoring and reporting, performing CDD check on corporate customers and assisting the AMLCO in regulatory reporting obligations.

Role Responsibilities

  • You will also provide AML Compliance support to less-complex and lower-risk agents of Western Union and its affiliates to build programs that are in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and other anti-money laundering laws as they apply to Money Services Businesses.
  • Supports agents' efforts to comply with company policies and procedures as they relate to anti-money laundering.
  • Evaluates internal controls and anti-money laundering compliance programs for agents through transaction analyses, compliance reviews and training sessions. Responsible for follow up with agents concerning review findings. Work will be closely supervised until skills are consistently demonstrated.
  • Implementing policies and procedures and working closely with the global agent oversight and regional compliance teams which will help you achieve consistency.

Role Requirements

  • Fluency in English language (oral and written). Dutch and French preferrable.
  • Willing to travel within Belgium 10% of the time if required.
  • +2 years of experience within the AML or Compliance field or KYC.
  • In addition, we require you to have experience communicating with clients/customers (preferably face-to-face and/or via phone) and the ability to manage challenging situations.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand laws and regulations related to AML/CTF and Anti-Fraud policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and have strong time management skills.
