$67.48 - $84.35POSITION SUMMARY
The Refill Authorization and Medication Access Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical support to clinic
providers and patients by managing refill authorization requests, select therapeutic alternatives that
align with payor formularies, and address medication access related issues, under Collaborative Practice
Agreements (CPAs). The pharmacist collaborates closely with providers, nurses, pharmacy technicians,
and other healthcare team members to optimize patient access to safe, effective, and cost-conscious
medications, while maintaining compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulations.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:
· Current California Board of Pharmacy – Licensed Pharmacist required.
· Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
Knowledge/Experience:
· Two (2) years of pharmacy experience required.
· Prior experience in an ambulatory or retail pharmacy setting with a strong understanding of
primary care pharmacotherapy, payor formularies, and working under collaborative practice
agreements.
· Experience identifying medication-related problems and recommending evidence-based
interventions to optimize therapy.
Skills:
· Ability to communicate clinical recommendations and medication-related concerns effectively to
physicians and other healthcare professionals.
