Position Summary / Career Interest:

Organizes patient flow and provides patient care. Performs various clinical responsibilities. Responsible for setting up instruments and equipment. Adheres to infection control procedures.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Organize patient flow by making pre-visit preparations, room patients, conduct intake and screenings, medication reconciliation, check vital signs, update forms in charts, perform required tests, perform standing orders, monitor preventative care alerts.
  • Assess patient goals and barriers to care.
  • Provide personalized educational resources and recommend community resources.
  • Ensure patient is ready for the physician exam.
  • Ensure all patient care areas are cleaned and stocked as needed.
  • Return patient calls; inform patients of test results; call in prescriptions, obtain medication authorizations as appropriate, assist patients with lab charges/coding errors.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 2 or more years physician office experience


Required Licensure and Certification

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
