Support Experience Study function within in Actuarial department and support any project or ad-hoc company task.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead health analytics initiatives, including claims analysis, morbidity studies, and cost trend evaluations. Provide technical insights into the company’s claim cost containment initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain models to support claim projection, trend identification, pricing, product design, and portfolio management.
  • Collaborate with actuaries, underwriters, product managers, and data scientists to enhance health risk assessment and product competitiveness.
  • Analyze and interpret health insurance data from Indonesia, including BPJS Kesehatan and private health schemes.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and market trends impacting health insurance in Indonesia.
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Managing Health related reporting including loss ratio, combined ratio, claim variance etc.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to building a data-driven culture within the department.

Job Specification:

Qualification and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Public Health, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in health analytics, preferably within insurance, healthcare, or consulting.
  • Strong understanding of the Indonesian health insurance landscape.
  • Proficiency in analytical tools such as SQL, Python, R, or SAS.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders.
  • Leadership and people management capability
  • Able to provide effective coaching and development for team members
  • Effective communicator (oral and written)
  • Fluent in English

Preferred skills

  • Familiarity with actuarial concepts and insurance product structures.
  • Experience with predictive modeling, machine learning, or health economics.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and healthcare financing in Indonesia.
  • Exposure to digital health platforms, telemedicine, or health tech innovations.

Autonomy (Give three examples of any independent decision taken by job holder or action taken where job holder has complete autonomy i.e. without referring to superior for approval).

Collaboration within Actuarial team and with both local and Group Health pillars to enhance the company’s understanding of health claim history as well as future trend. Lead and conduct actuarial analysis to inform management for sound business decisions. Manage and coach junior members of the team.

Monitoring the company’s health portfolio claim on a monthly basis. Being a reliable partner in providing health claim related insights to other business processes including forecasting and planning. Business partnering with other functions to support their respective targets.
