What will you do? 

A day in the life of the Manager of Retention Marketing at Altra looks a little like this. 

The Manager of Retention marketing will be responsible for the implementation of our retention marketing program that encourages repeat purchases. This includes email marketing, text marketing, and content planning for the commerce areas of our website.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more. 

Email and Text Marketing

  • Lead retention and lifecycle marketing execution across email and SMS, partnering with agencies and internal stakeholders to drive repeat purchase, customer lifetime value, and revenue goals.

  • Own end‑to‑end email operations, including segmentation, personalization, creative, QA, testing (A/B), calendar management, deployment, and triggered and campaign programs.

  • Analyze behavioral and performance data to optimize sends, forecasting and reporting on retention results, and implementing execution plans to address revenue gaps.

  • Develop and execute retention content plans aligned to the integrated marketing calendar, ensuring consistent promotion of key product styles through evergreen and test‑and‑learn strategies.

  • Drive first‑party data acquisition and continuously document insights to improve personalization and retention performance.

Ecom & Website Commerce Content Planning

  • Work with our ecom partners to develop content plans for the key marketing commerce areas of the site linked to integrated marketing calendars.

  • Assist ecom team in landing page strategies and test plans for both acquisition and retention strategies that optimize performance.

  • Attend regular internal business meetings and develop fast action plans in conjunction with ecom partners and agency partners to acton insights that drive revenue.

Management

  • Manage the budget, including retention revenue forecasting, invoicing and actualizing costs for retention tactics.

  • Manage the creative team and outside partners to ensure successful execution of retention activities.

  • Monitor competitive marketing activities and provide a perspective to the marketing and ecommerce teams.

  • Own and manage all ecom/business driven integrated moments (eg. promotions and Black Friday/Cyber Monday etc.)

  • Manage our CDP database with our internal digital technology team.

What do you need to succeed? 

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 5-7 years of experience and professional achievements in retention/CRM marketing.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are: 

  • Strong organizational skills with proficiency in PM (Wrike), DAM tools, Excel/Google Sheets, Coupa, and email marketing platforms (Salesforce, Bluecore)

  • Experience managing creative projects from brief through execution

  • Proven ability to manage and report on annual budgets

  • Strong cross‑functional partnership with team leaders and stakeholders

  • Hands-on experience with A/B testing for retention marketing

  • Experience planning and testing website commerce content

Hiring Range:

$109,296.00 USD - $136,620.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
