Who we are looking for
The candidate will be responsible for leading middle office operations initiatives for the alternative arm of State Street’s largest IMS client. The candidate will engage in operational aspects concerning the front to back office flow with a primary focus on syndicated bank loans and alternative investments. The role involves daily interaction with various internal teams, custodian banks, and clients with the overall goal of providing timely support and resolution of all inquiries.
What you will be responsible for
Ability to lead and manage a team ensuring development and growth of skills
Ability to lead Client on-boarding and/or large project implementations
Product expert for Centre of excellence. Comprehensive and demonstrated knowledge of overall process and operating models, with expertise in the Bank Loan and Alternatives segment
Develop and deliver training/coaching
Acts as primary contact and key escalation point for operational issues and provides technical expertise to resolve daily problems.
Experience in leading global organizations. Experience in or exposure to Fund Accounting, Custody, Financial Reporting, Recon, Fund Operations, Trade Processing, Middle Office, Risk Oversight, Relationship Management, Automation and Management Reporting are required
Lead and manage a consistent high quality service delivery to the client across all Service functions, working closely with GS Client Executive & Client Service Teams
Prepares and reviews various standardized reports within the business unit related to accounting activities.
Prepares client account communications and updates to custodians and counterparties.
Exercise discretion and judgment with respect to matters of significance
Collaborate with internal and external groups to identify, analyse and proactively resolve issues
Encourage suggestions for, and implementation of, continuous improvements to core products and services
Help others adapt to new values, attitudes, norms and behaviours that support new ways of doing work and limiting risk
Education & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with business related coursework or equivalent. B.S. in Finance, Economics, or Accounting preferred.
Minimum 10 year of related experience in custody, fund accounting and/or trade processing.
Knowledge of financial securities markets, language and products, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Knowledge of VBA macros and Business Objects is a plus.
Proven critical thinking, technical, analytical, time management and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize workloads under tight deadlines in a very fast-paced trading-driven environment.
Project management/Business Analysis/Client Solutions expertise required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both verbal and written forms.
Experience in Middle or Back Office Core Operations an advantage
Experience in documentation of Operational processes
Direct client facing experience
Salary Range:
$115,000 - $201,250 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
