AltaGas is seeking four Terminal Shift Supervisors to join our REEF Terminal Operations team! In this role, you will support hands on commissioning and startup (CSU) and ready-for-operations (RFO) activities as a senior field operator. Once REEF is operational, you will lead the shift team in terminal operations and vessel loading and transition to the Shift Supervisor role. Your primary focus will be ensuring all work aligns with AltaGas’ Core Values of Safety, Collaboration, Integrity, Inclusion, and Learning.

This position requires a strong safety mindset and hands-on, field-based leadership while maintaining compliance with operational procedures and meeting customer expectations.

This position offers flexible options, including company-sponsored relocation to Prince Rupert or a fly-in/fly-out schedule with company-provided flights, housing, and a shared vehicle. This is not a camp-based role, but camp may be provided during Start-up and Commissioning. The schedule for this position is 14 days on / 14 days off, rotating between day and night shifts. Once operational, the schedule will transition to 7 days / 7 nights / 14 off. The anticipated onboarding for these positions is April 2026.

What You'll Do:

  • Champion personal safety leadership in accordance with AltaGas’ Environment, Health and Safety Program.
  • Ensure compliance with AltaGas policies, standards, and procedures during all operational activities.
  • Commissioning and Start-up Phase
    • Support the commissioning lead in developing start-up, commissioning procedures, and executing start-up and commissioning plans
    • Liaison with the commissioning and construction contractors – support dry commissioning of facility equipment
    • Develop and execute operational procedures, lock-out/tag-out packages, and support Operational Readiness development with the Operations, Maintenance & Project (OMP) Coordinator.
  • Operational Phase
    • Oversee railcar movements and offloading, LPG chilling and processing, and VLGC vessel loading.
    • Maintain strong field presence during railcar and vessel operations, ensuring ergonomic best practices.
    • Ensure equipment is maintained, routine shift maintenance is completed, and additional work orders are entered in Maximo.
    • Lead lock-out/tag-out efforts and ensure proper isolation for maintenance.
    • Support Management of Change (MOC) and project execution as required.
    • Supervise shift team performance and development, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
    • Plan and monitor training progression for Operations staff in alignment with the Superintendent and OMP Coordinator.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of training programs.
    • Review rail schedules and yard movements between holding tracks and unloading racks.
    • Document and optimize rail and vessel operations to enhance logistics.
    • Lead incident reporting and investigations, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
    • Maintain facility housekeeping standards.
    • Manage vacation and time-off requests to ensure adequate staffing for rail and vessel operations.
    • Support direct facility operations as needed.
    • Process Expense/P-Card reports, including coding, receipt compilation, and submission.

What You Bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 4th Class Power Engineering certification required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Gas Plant or Terminal Operations, with proven leadership in supervising or leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Minimum 2 years of control room experience, preferably with DeltaV (other systems considered).
  • Previous hands-on commissioning and start-up experience is an asset.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a strong passion for team training and development.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with EHS and PSM systems such as Maximo and Intelex is an asset.
  • Strong time management and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.

About REEF
The Ridley Island Energy Export Facility (REEF) is AltaGas’ new, state-of-the-art energy export terminal located on Ridley Island near Prince Rupert, British Columbia. The REEF Terminal is designed to receive, store, and export liquefied petroleum gases (LPGs), including propane and butane, to global markets. Product is received primarily by rail, transferred to on-site storage, and loaded onto ocean-going vessels for safe and efficient export to international destinations. REEF represents a significant expansion of AltaGas’ global export capabilities and plays a key role in connecting North American energy supply to growing international demand. Compensation

This position offers a base salary range of $135,000 to $145,000 annually, based on experience, education, and skills. AltaGas also provides a competitive relocation allowance and a comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage, retirement plans, and paid time off starting on day one.  This position is overtime eligible.
