Alpha Data Services – Documentation Business Analyst, Officer

Who we are looking for.

We are looking for a business analyst with demonstrated experience of writing business requirements and standards. The role will work with across a number of product teams within Alpha Data Services to document their business requirements. The role includes the build out of standard product documentation across three practice areas.

Responsibilities  

  • Support the Data Control & Governance, Data Integration and Reporting & Visualization practice area teams to gather and document business requirements.
  • Work with the practice area teams to develop their standard product documentation.
  • Centralise the raising of business requirements and dependencies on our IT partners.
  • Maintain a log of all requirements, using standard workflow tooling.
  • Work with the practice areas to develop regular newsletters to communicate new product features and changes.
  • Manage stakeholder communication across multiple teams and levels.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong documentation skills are essential.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience of business analysis within data management, asset management or financial services.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Solid understanding of financial markets and asset classes.
  • Ability to work across teams and silos to problem solve and achieve required outcomes.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Front, Middle and Back Office domain knowledge.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, computer science, data science, or a related field.
  • Experience in data analysis or data management within asset management or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives).
  • Prince2, PMP or equivalent project management qualifications.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
