ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE:
In this rewarding opportunity you will join the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) team as an Allocations Officer based at our East Melbourne Office on a permanent part time basis.

As the Allocations Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the coordination and management of Nurse Bank and Agency staff to ensure optimal staffing levels and skill mix across the organisation. You will be responsible for meeting daily staffing requirements, supporting continuity of care, and maintaining service excellence. In collaboration with the Resource Unit Coordinator, you will assist with the recruitment, selection, and retention of casual staff, while ensuring that all Nurse Bank staff are appropriately oriented and inducted into the clinical environment.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring performance standards, collecting and reporting data on staffing effectiveness, and promptly addressing any issues related to Nurse Bank or Agency personnel. You will work closely with Nurse Unit Managers to align available resources with clinical needs, actively negotiating skill mix to maintain quality care. In addition, you will manage key relationships with nursing agencies, ensuring collaborative partnerships and responsive staffing support.


 

You will bring your enthusiasm, dedication, and strong communication skills to this dynamic role. As a key member of the team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Handling inbound calls with professionalism and efficiency, providing excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Coordinating with casual resource staff to confirm availability and secure shift bookings, ensuring optimal staffing levels.

  • Managing internal rostering systems, including Emprevo and Kronos, to maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records.

  • Collaborating with Clinical Managers and Hospital Coordinators to understand and meet daily staffing needs across various departments.

  • Engaging with external stakeholders, fostering positive working relationships and clear lines of communication.

  • Providing vital administrative support to the Resource Allocations Nurse Unit Manager, contributing to the smooth and effective operation of the team.
