  • Grade 2 AHA role in community rehabilitation, Fairfield or Kew location

  • Permanent, part time position working Monday - Friday, flexible from minimum 28 - maximum 32.5 hours per week

About the Role
An exciting opportunity currently exists for an AHA to join the Community Rehab Team on a permanent basis. The Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant will provide and deliver high quality person-centred, goal-orientated home and centre-based community rehabilitation within a supportive multidisciplinary team. There will be clinical and administrative components to the work.

The classification for this position will be IN29 ($62,540 per annum pro rata for part time).


Your Contribution

  • Allied Health Assistant Certificate (as defined by the Health and Allied Services Award) or equivalent health related education

  • Experience working with a team of allied health professionals

  • Experience running exercise groups

  • Excellent office administration skills, taking initiative and accepting a high level of responsibility for the work

  • High accuracy when performing data-related work

  • Flexible nature, changing with the direction of team goals

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills that incorporate excellent communication with health professionals and clients of varying ages and cultural backgrounds

  • Highly developed skills of organization, planning and problem solving

  • Demonstrated sound knowledge of patient and own safety

  • Current Driver’s licence

  • Experience in rehabilitation is highly desirable

  • Current National criminal history check or willing to obtain

About Health Independence Programs - Community Rehabilitation

Health Independence Programs (HIP) – Rehab & Clinics: are a group of services that provide time-limited, goal-orientated care for people who have a disability, are frail, chronically ill or recovering from injury or illness to regain optimal function.

These include the Community Rehabilitation Service, Rehab in the Home, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, Specialist Clinics including the Continence; Cognitive, Dementia and Memory Service (CDAMS); and the Falls & Balance Clinic.

The Community Rehab Teams operate from our Kew and Fairfield sites.
