As the Alliance & Ecosystem Management (AEM) Sub-Chapter Lead, you will report to the Chapter Lead Partnerships & Transactions and will be a member of the Partnerships & Transactions Leadership Team. In this position, you will be the leading figure and key point of contact for long-term partnership capabilities. The AEM Sub-Chapter is positioned as a key function within S&P with the aim to maximize the value of all Diagnostics Partnering activities. You will improve the chapter’s overarching expertise based on current and upcoming needs to deliver on network and business priorities.
You will be responsible for developing the capabilities of Sub-Chapter members and oversee all partnership management activities in relation to single and multiparty relationships, design and contractual framing of digital ecosystems/platform businesses.
Lead/manage a team of approximately 7-8 team members to ensure best-in-class expertise in Alliance & Ecosystem Management
Support each Sub-Chapter member’s professional journey, create a safe space for the Sub-Chapter to interact and learn from each other.
Creatively develop, strengthen and recruit team capabilities for the long term, including negotiation skills, relationship building, communication, risk management, system and strategic thinking
Work closely with Partnering RDS & RIS Network Leads, the other parts of the P&T Chapter and the RDS/RIS Customer Areas Heads and LCTs to identify and translate strategic direction to capability needs that will enable best-in-class partnering execution and delivery
Manage the Diagnostics Partnering external brand to ensure that Diagnostics as a whole is perceived by the external community of partners and stakeholders as a partner-of-choice, committed to long-term value creation
An advanced degree in Science, Engineering, Business, Legal or in a related field
Extensive alliance management and/or partner management experience (e.g. suppliers, CROs, CMOs, digital platform partners, etc.). Experience in leading complex partnerships, including functional M&A integrations in the Pharma/Dia/Biotech industry would be a plus
Proven business development experience in the Pharma/Dia/Biotech industry
Proven people leadership/managerial experience
Demonstrate courage, vision and drive to be at the forefront of innovative change
Proven ability to lead with creative attitude, very high self-awareness and being a coach and a mentor to other leaders and partners
Demonstrate the ability to build networks and inspire an agile way of working
Evidence of strong strategic thinking, communication, planning and organizational skills required, e.g., through experience successfully leading strategic initiatives
Able to foster positive partnerships through effective influencing, negotiation and conflict management skills to achieve alignment up and down the organization
Excellent interpersonal skills, including clear, succinct and timely communication and proven ability to foster and build important relationships with customers and key stakeholders
