At Aptiv, we are at the forefront of revolutionizing mobility, and we specialize in developing advanced safety systems for the automotive industry, ensuring every aspect of driving is safer and more reliable.

Our department is responsible for the development of radar perception software end-to-end, e.g., processing data received from sensors, generating object data and estimating other important information in the surrounding environment. Our customers, as well as our internal stakeholders, then use our output to develop feature functions such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and various levels of automated driving functionality.

Your Role:

We are looking for a talented Algorithm Engineer for our Radar Perception Division full of ambitious and highly competent developers at our site in Kraków. In this role, you will actively contribute to the development and advancement of SG (stationary geometry), ROT (Radar objects tracking) and HARP (Hybrid Advanced Radar Perception), a cutting-edge system where radar perception is achieved through a combination of classic algorithms (such as Kalman filters) and state-of-the-art machine learning techniques. You will be at the forefront of creating innovative solutions that enhance the accuracy, reliability, and performance of radar-based systems.

Area of responsibility:

  • Develop and enhance the radar perception software stack for embedded systems.

  • Research, prototype, and adapt cutting-edge technologies and methodologies in radar perception, AI/ML, and signal processing.

  • Implement and integrate algorithms in C/C++ and Python.

  • Work on algorithmic areas such as object detection and tracking, classification, segmentation, Kalman filtering, and other estimation methods.

  • Ensure product quality through design activities, requirements creation, and comprehensive verification and validation according to Aptiv processes and relevant industry standards.

  • Continuously improve supporting tools such as simulation environments, test frameworks, and validation pipelines.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across ongoing programs and projects.

  • Collaborate with system engineering, testing teams, customers, and project management.

  • Work in an Agile software development environment (SCRUM).

Your Background:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.

  • Experience developing radar perception or prediction algorithms and/or AI/ML models.

  • Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

  • Solid understanding of radar perception software, radar signal processing, and/or statistics.

  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python; experience with MATLAB is a plus.

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.

  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in ADAS projects, especially within perception or feature development.

  • Experience with radar prediction algorithms and/or AI/ML models.

  • Knowledge of automotive standards such as ASPICE and ISO 26262.

  • Experience with version control systems (Git, Gerrit).
