What We're Looking For
About HNTB Aviation and Advisory
HNTB brings industry-leading aviation expertise, partnering with airport owners to deliver complex programs from airside to landside, including terminals, runways, airport systems, and planning across a range of delivery methods. Our teams have supported some of the nation’s busiest gateways, including Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, O’Hare International Airport, Denver International Airport, and Los Angeles International Airport.
HNTB’s Advisory practice (Advisory) helps clients make high-confidence decisions on strategy, commercial positioning, and execution for complex capital and operational initiatives. We work side-by-side with HNTB’s aviation planning, engineering, architecture, and program delivery teams so technical solutions are grounded in stakeholder realities, commercial constraints, and implementable paths to delivery. Our work ultimately enables owners to structure and deliver major programs. This includes defining commercial and delivery structures, setting phasing and delivery options, guiding procurement strategy and execution, and identifying funding and financing pathways.
Position Summary
Advisory is seeking a senior airport commercial advisor to help build our commercial advisory capability in the aviation space. Across the country, airport owners are pursuing once-in-a-generation programs and considering alternative delivery models that increase stakeholder and commercial complexity. This role will help support airport leadership teams in their decision-making process by framing decisions, clarifying tradeoffs, aligning stakeholders, and translating commercial priorities into clear direction for implementation, funding/financing, and delivery structure. In select pursuits, the role may also support developers and airlines as part of an integrated bid or program team, bringing the same commercial rigor and practical judgment to strengthen proposals and execution strategies.
The position builds on HNTB’s planning, engineering, architecture and program management strengths by adding senior commercial credibility across airport commercial programs and the stakeholder dynamics that shape outcomes. This role defines the commercial questions that matter, reviews key assumptions and work products from internal teams or external specialists, shapes the commercial narrative, and ensures priorities translate into practical scopes, governance, and delivery pathways while keeping the airport owner’s perspective front and center.
