What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $84,604- $114,000. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location & Schedule

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position, you can expect to work on site three days out of the week. Your office will be located at Denver International Airport. Typical workdays are Monday- Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. There may be occasions where work outside these hours is required. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days

The Culture & Strategy Division, part of DEN’s Chief of Staff portfolio, leads efforts in three key areas that impact the entire organization and its stakeholders: (1) Strategy & Innovation, (2) Airport Access & Business Opportunity, and (3) Strategic Outreach & Engagement.

We are seeking an innovative and strategic thinker to join the Airport Access & Business Opportunity team as the Airport Access (ADA & Title VI) Administrator II. This role reports to the Airport Access Manager.

As the Airport Access Administrator II, you will be a part of a team of three (3) professionals at DEN. This team is responsible for evaluating, ensuring, and enhancing policies and providing guidance on accessibility and equal treatment in programs and activities at DEN. The Airport Access team ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, handles complaints, conducts investigations, and implements training to ensure DEN adhere to ADA, Accessibility, and Title VI, Nondiscrimination, requirements, fostering inclusivity and equal opportunities for all individuals, regardless of ability or background.

This role is critical to ensuring equitable access to airport services and facilities for all passengers, with a strong emphasis on customer experience, and stakeholder engagement. In this role, you will contribute to DEN’s success through the following job responsibilities:

Programmatic Oversight:

  • Collaborate with legal, planning, and design teams to integrate accessibility standards into capital projects and operational procedures
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of facilities, services, and communications to ensure accessibility and equity
  • Utilize compliance as a component to review existing processes and programs and build upon compliance reviews to evaluate areas where accessible initiatives can be incorporated to further agency goals
  • Serves as project manager on the implementation of plans for operational improvements in partnership with the Access Manager
  • Monitors the implementation of recommendations; reviews policies and procedures within federal, state, and local mandates and statues

Customer Experience:

  • Champion inclusive customer service practices that enhance the travel experience for individuals with disabilities and limited English proficiency
  • Lead initiatives to improve wayfinding, signage, digital accessibility, and service delivery
  • Respond to and resolve accessibility-related complaints and inquiries with empathy, efficiency, and professionalism
  • Develop and deliver training for airport staff and contractors on ADA and Title VI requirements and best practices
  • Measure, track, and analyze the effectiveness of initiatives focused on creating a culture of inclusion and belonging that drive successful outcomes for ADA and Title VI performance

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, advocacy groups, and government agencies
  • Facilitate public outreach and engagement efforts to gather input on accessibility and equity issues
  • Represent DEN in regional and national forums focused on transportation access and civil rights
  • Coordinate with airlines, tenants, and service providers to promote consistent accessibility standards across the airport campus
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local statutes, rules, and guidelines related to ADA (Accessibility) and Title VI (Nondiscrimination) and Limited English Proficiency (LEP) and language access and justice and recommend enhancements to strengthen agency’s engagement and outreach efforts.

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

  • At least three years of professional experience working in a complex organization with advanced skills in governmental processes, procedures, and regulations for local, state and federal relating to ADA and Title VI (Civil Rights) compliance programming or similar programs
  • Strong customer service, emotional intelligence acumen; effective communication including the ability to manage and resolve conflicts, grievances, confrontations, or disagreements with internal and external stakeholders
  • Adaptability to make decisions promptly, prioritize several demanding tasks simultaneously in high pressure situations
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (strong proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in a related field based on a specific position(s).
  • Experience Requirement: Five (5) years’ experience performing full performance professional level duties within a specialized, functional area. (This does not include clerical experience.)
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
