Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for an AIRMAN AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST-Title 5, Position Description Number T5302P02 and is part of the WI 115 FSS, Wisconsin Air National Guard.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-0301-11 position, you must have at least 36 months of experience coordinating people and resources from multiple organizations to assist in presentations. Experience preparing and delivering written communications and oral presentations to all levels of an organization. Applicants must be a currently certified personal finance counselor and have experience with financial literacy as it relates to families and individuals. Experience in gathering information from multiple sources and recommending a course of action. Experience reading, interpreting, and providing guidance based on laws, rules, and regulations. A preferred candidate has experience in personal and family life readiness, financial readiness, mobilization and deployment, and relocation. Ability and experience in assessing the needs of Service members and families who are experiencing significant life transitions or challenges. Experience counseling, coaching, and consulting Service Members and their families. Knowledge of and proven ability to work with veteran service organizations. A working knowledge of Veteran's Administration disability claims process. Experience or knowledge of the Transition Assistance Program is a must. Experience or training providing financial literacy training and education, personal financial counseling, and financial readiness strategies to Service Members and their families. Skilled public speaker and ability to brief Service Members, volunteers, family members, and all levels of command. Experience in coordination and recognition of volunteers; current or previous certifications in volunteer administration will make the most ideal applicant. Experience in coordinating community, state, and national resources to assist Service Members. Experience with child and youth development programs and resources.
