Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (UH-72A) (LUH-72), Position Description Number PDD2390000 and is part of the KY AASF, National Guard.

Major Duties:

  • As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (UH-72A) (LUH-72), WG-8852-12, you will manage, monitor and perform overall maintenance within the CAMP and FAA framework, servicing, inspections and documentation for highly technical, high performance UH-72A military aircraft. Perform work in complex conditions under time and/or mission constraints to include all weather and night operations. Train, coordinate, and oversee the work of Non-Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) aircraft mechanics. Certify completion of maintenance tasks of non A&P mechanics and certifies the work of journey level workers in other trades working on the assigned aircraft. Certify aircraft as airworthy before being released for flight. Perform preflight, thru flight, and post-flight inspections and scheduled or unscheduled maintenance. Control and perform work assignments based upon priorities, workload availability of UH-72A parts, facilities, material and personnel. Observe and inspect work performed by other UH-72A workers work to insure compliance with applicable technical publications, directives and local policy. Accomplish operational tests of aircraft systems and components. Maintain UH-72A aircraft under FAA and manufacturer guidelines. Track and record tasks for A&P aircraft mechanics as needed for those A&Ps to meet the requirements of Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 65.81. Continuously assess skill level and proficiency of assigned personnel. Comply with safety, fire, security, environmental, and housekeeping regulations. Ensure material and equipment are properly and safely maintained and protected. May participate in operational flights as a crew member. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience removing and replacing aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and making adjustments and settings according to established specifications. Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 18 months experience installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates (Example 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981 or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981), work schedule, and hours worked per week of employment.
