Job Summary: This job opportunity is for an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, position description D0734000 , within the 177TH AMXS of the New Jersey Air National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. The purpose of this position is to supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders and/or supervisors, in accomplishing the operations of a distinct organizational unit and to perform associated nonsupervisory work. T

Major Duties:

  • As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, WS-8852-10, you will: Monitors the work of assigned personnel, sets the pace, passes along assignments, and assures that materials, tools, equipment, and stock are available. Works along with aircraft mechanics and specialist personnel performing journeyman work as required. Perform readiness evaluations, inspections, and command support exercises Advises the supervisor of overall work operations, status and progress of work, causes for delays, problems encountered, and individual performance (e.g., additional on-the-job training requirements for individual employees). On a daily basis, recommends adjustments in work schedules to provide optimum utilization of personnel in support of functional requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: General Experience: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with sufficient knowledge to complete the work of this occupational series. Experience or training which demonstrates the candidates ability to lead other technicians engaged in the duties performed by this occupational series. Specialized Experience: ( Must have at least 36 months of the following Specialized Experience(s)) In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series. Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. The ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series.
