Major Duties:
Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE is experience or training that has provided the candidate with sufficient knowledge to complete the work of this occupational series. Experience or training which demonstrates the candidates ability to lead other technicians engaged in the duties performed by this occupational series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is experience which is directly related to the position to be filled and which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. WL-10 - Must have at least 24 months of experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container. In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series. Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. The ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates and hours worked per week for each occurrence of both civilian and military employment (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only will result in disqualification. Your record of experience and/or training must show possession of the following knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position: - Knowledge of the makeup, operation, and installation of a variety of aircraft systems and assemblies. Knowledge in determining when new assemblies and/or systems should be installed or repaired through replacement of new parts or components. Knowledge of the types and extent of mechanical adjustments and alignments. Skill in removing, replacing, and adjusting various systems and assemblies, as well as, associated components and parts. Knowledge and skill in using precision test equipment, technical data, schematics, wiring diagrams, mathematical formulae, common hand tools, jigs, templates, and gauges.
