Your duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Additional Duties as assigned
- Understands aircraft tools and equipment (e.g., test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers)
- Performs all duties required to lay out, fabricate, and install electrical wiring or coaxial cable on aircraft.
- Cuts wire to length, strips insulation from wire ends, and insulates connections with plastic sleeves.
- Attaches wire or complicated electrical systems to fixtures and accessories such as transformers, instrument panels, and switchboards with fasteners such as bolts and screws.
- Interprets and uses various test equipment and works from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals
- Experience in Configuring aircraft for modifications, removal and installation of attaching hardware, component removal and installations, assistance with software uploads, and various system operational checkouts
- Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft in flight line environment.
- Perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions.
- Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems
- Performs comprehensive maintenance to egress systems across multiple aircraft and seat types
- Perform inspections, removals, and installations of ejection seats, canopies, and explosive devices.
- Ensure all egress systems comply with technical orders and safety regulations.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in egress, canopy fracturing, and emergency oxygen systems.
- Prepares and installs survival systems and/or associated rocket firing systems and assists customer flight crewmembers with preflight preparations and post flight discrepancies.
- Removes, transport, inspects, repairs and reinstalls ejection seats and escape system components.
- Inspects, repairs, and maintains various survival equipment such as flight protective clothing and equipment, oxygen bottles and regulators, flares, lift raft packages, and inflationary devices in life vests.
- Ensures survival equipment complies with Flight Safety, Company, and customer standards.
- May be called on to familiarize Company and customer flight crewmembers with all escape and survival techniques such as ejection seat systems, water/land survival, and personal equipment and its operations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Aircraft Mechanic 3: High School diploma or GED and 4 years of Aircrew Flight Equipment and/or Life Support or other relevant experience.
- Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
- Hands-on maintenance experience on aircraft EGRESS/ aviation life support equipment.
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
- Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices
- Great attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Flexibility, team orientation, ability and willingness to learn
- Effective Communication Skills
- Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to including bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up-to 50 pounds, and working overhead.
- Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
- Must be able to pass a New Hire Physical And Respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Experience using precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on maintenance experience on aircraft EGRESS/ aviation life support equipment
- Aircraft Maintenance experience (F-35, F-22, F- 15, F-16, F-18, etc.)
- Experience with removal/installation of fighter aircraft canopies, ejection seats, maintaining and inspecting canopies, explosive devices, inventories, stores, removal and replacement of seat Cartridge Actuated Device/Pneumatic Actuated Device (CAD/PAD) explosive items
- Familiarization with ACES II EGRESS seat.
- Basic Understanding of DAFMAN 91-201, AFI 21-10 Manual.

Primary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $79,100.00 - $131,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
