Job Description:
Airbus UpNext is looking for a Mission Operations & Software Engineer to support the definition and implementation of 5G Non-Terrestrial-Network capabilities based on space platforms.

As Mission Operations & Software Engineer, you are responsible for the implementation of on-board mission software operations and associated activities (LEOP, routine, payload operations). You will interface with Airbus Constellations Satellites and a satellite operator partner to synchronize software deliveries and deployment activities. You will also support the operations of the satellite constellation and 5G NTN services demonstrations (payload operations).
This position is based in Toulouse ( Labège) , comes with a CDI-C contract linked to the deliverable of the demonstrator (estimated date end of June 2028)

By being the Mission Operations & Software Engineer (as part of on-board mission SW team), you will:
Contribute to the definition of satellite products deliveries needed to support operations
Design and Implement the on-board Mission SW changes and associated deployment procedures to support the satellite operator's launch strategy and operational needs.
Coordinate the technical integration of Mission SW updates and operations tools between ACS, UpNext, and the satellite operator partner.
Support End-to-End system design by providing detailed technical specifications and implementing the CONOPS (Concept of Operations) via software, focusing on automation and efficiency.
Define, deploy, and maintain the software tools and scripts needed at the Airbus level for demonstration data acquisition, delivery, storage, and processing.
Contribute to satellite AIT phase on operations activities
Provide hands-on software support for LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase) and IOT (In-Orbit Test) at the satellite operator facility, including real-time debugging and patch deployment.
Implement and integrate the In-Flight Satellite Support software solution within the consortium environment.

Strong hands-on experience in mission SW engineering and development
Experience and knowledge in satellite operations (NGSO systems, telecommunications satellites)
Experience in Arrow 150 (OBC, Mission SW, TT&C)
Willingness to work with external companies for system definition and operations
