Job Summary: This National Guard position is for a AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2989000 and is part of the FL HQ 101 AOG, National Guard.

Qualifications: AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. T32/T5- AIR Bargaining ONLY FLANG BUS Code NG0523: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation. Position requires temporary work away from normal duty station (TOY IT AD). 3. May be required to travel by commercial or military aircraft. 4. May be required to work overtime. 5. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty (i.e. evenings, weekends, holidays) 6. This is a testing designated position. The employee is subject to random drug testing. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-11 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience in a military or civilian air traffic facility that demonstrated possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the full management level of work of the specialization for which application is made; experience must have provided a comprehensive knowledge of providing information to pilots on such matters as weather, air routes, navigational aids, and airport conditions before and during flight; issuing control instructions and advice to pilots in the vicinity of airports to assure proper separation of aircraft and to expedite their safe and efficient movement; controlling aircraft operating enroute along the airways to assure proper separation and safe and expeditious movement of such aircraft.
