The AI Strategist transforms ENMAX’s AI ambition into measurable business value and scalable impact. As a critical member of Enterprise data and AI team, this role brings pragmatism and clarity to AI adoption by helping the organization focus on the high value use cases in alignment with ENMAX’s AI ambition and strategy.
This role gathers business requirements, produces clear technical documentation, and partners closely with business, governance, and technical teams to ensure AI initiatives are delivered successfully. Acting as a bridge between strategy and execution, the role operationalizes AI enablement through design thinking, engineering capabilities, value driven scalability, education, and ongoing alignment with ENMAX’s AI strategy.
Major Responsibilities:
AI Strategy and Design
Build effective collaborations with business, analytics and IT stakeholders to identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases
Understand existing business processes and capabilities, and translate opportunities/ideas into actionable AI use cases
Build an informed view of AI tools, techniques and platforms, and guide AI adoption with focus on reducing overlap and maximizing existing capabilities
Build and maintain a backlog of AI opportunities that is regularly curated through engagement with business and IT stakeholders
Lead and facilitate AI discovery workshops to elicit, analyze and document business requirements that can be functional, non-functional, and technical from a wide range of stakeholders
AI Engineering and Solution Enablement
Design and implement Gen AI/agentic AI systems, including RAG, single-agent and multi-agent architectures, for various business domains across ENMAX.
Understand domain-specific challenges or opportunities across the enterprise, and translate them into scalable AI solutions
Leverage Azure AI Foundry, CoPilot Studio, Agent Bricks, Azure OpenAI, Graph connectors, API plugins, Azure AI Search, and Vector Databases to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions for AI opportunities
Implement best practices in source code management, adopt and guide the LLM/AIOps lifecycle, including model tracking, deployment, and monitoring within Azure DevOps, GitHub and Databricks environments
Collaborate with other AI SMEs, privacy and governance stakeholders, and service partners while developing or guiding development of PoC, MVPs or fully scaled production solutions that agentic reasoning, planning, and collaboration.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in generative AI, agentic AI, reinforcement learning, and multi-agent systems, with focus on Microsoft Azure stack (including Databricks)
Contribute to AI adoption Metrics, reporting and executive ready insights on AI usage, risk posture and compliance status
Education Required:
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems or a related field.
Generative AI training or certifications (Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate, Databricks Certified Generative AI Engineer Associate etc.) are considered an asset
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of professional experience, with 2+ years of hands-on experience in traditional machine learning and AI development, with exposure to Gen AI/agentic AI concepts
Hands-on experience building AI agents with LLMs, including RAG, using frameworks, such as LangChain, AutoGen, OpenAI APIs etc.
Proven programming skills with Python, with focus on ML/AI libraries and frameworks
Expertise in Azure AI tools including OpenAI, Foundry, Functions, Logic Apps, and Teams Toolkit
Understanding of MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, and monitoring.
Experience building solutions with low-code/no-code AI platforms (Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, or similar)
Proven expertise in identifying use cases, defining project scope, and delivering effective solutions within resource limitations
An outcome-oriented and pragmatic approach that prioritizes scalable adoption and measurable results
Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders (such as enterprise architecture, legal, security etc.), enterprise-level strategies, and emerging technologies
Experience in driving AI adoption in an organization through implementation of fully productionized use cases
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear language and set boundaries involving effective use of AI across diverse audiences

Salary: Technical Services Analyst, Level C (Current CUPE rates)
$106,530.06 - $113,175.79 - $119,841.36 - $126,487.09 - $133,152.66
Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) workforce with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will have the opportunity to work from home on Mondays and Fridays and will be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
