About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AI Systems Engineer & Technical Lead to architect distributed systems for AI hardware validation and lab automation. This role combines hands-on systems engineering with technical leadership, requiring expertise in both low-level firmware/hardware integration and high-level distributed system architecture.  develop automation frameworks, and mentor engineering teams working on Intel's most advanced AI and processor technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement architectures for AI and processor validation across multiple product lines (Thunderbolt/USB-C, DisplayPort/eDP)
  • Architect distributed lab automation systems that enable "one-click" testing across global Intel facilities
  • Select hardware components and develop integrated firmware/software solutions for validation systems
  • Lead end-to-end integration projects spanning software, firmware, and hardware across Intel processor families
  • Design and implement automation tools for power, performance, and electrical validation of AI hardware
  • Develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers and test hardware interfaces
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to engineering teams, guiding architectural decisions and problem-solving
  • Engineer distributed systems for circuit marginality validation using object-oriented design principles
  • Drive rapid technology adoption and solve complex multidisciplinary technical challenges
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on stealth AI projects requiring innovative validation approaches

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field

Experience:

  • Minimum 9+ years of experience in systems engineering, embedded systems, or hardware/software integration
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical leadership or team lead roles

5+ years of experience in/with

System Architecture & Integration: Extensive experience designing distributed multidisciplinary systems with firmware/software/hardware integration across multiple product lines

Programming Proficiency: Strong skills in Python and C++ for system-level development, with experience in multi-threading, cross-platform development, and object-oriented design

Lab Automation: Proven track record developing automation tools and frameworks for hardware validation, test systems, or lab infrastructure deployment Embedded Systems & Firmware: Hands-on experience with embedded microcontrollers, firmware development, and hardware interfaces (x86, USB-C, DisplayPort, or similar)

Hardware Validation Expertise: Experience with test card architecture, electrical validation, or circuit validation for processors or computing systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • AI/Cognitive Computing Projects: Direct experience working on AI systems, cognitive computing, or machine learning infrastructure projects
  • Multiple Product Line Experience: Background architecting solutions across diverse product lines (e.g., Thunderbolt, USB-C, DisplayPort, eDP)
  • Additional Technical Skills: Proficiency in C#, .NET, Linux, WMI, Win32, or other system-level technologies
  • Real-Time Systems: Experience with real-time software development and embedded system optimization
  • Global Lab Infrastructure: Experience implementing solutions for worldwide lab deployment or distributed testing environments
  • Algorithm Design: Background in algorithm architecture or performance optimization
  • Software Provisioning Systems: Familiarity with deployment systems (SCCM or similar) for large-scale infrastructure
  • Industry Recognition: Awards or recognition for technical excellence and innovation (e.g., Intel divisional recognition awards)
  • Medical Device or Safety-Critical Systems: Experience with embedded software in regulated or safety-critical environments
  • Multilingual Capabilities: Proficiency in multiple languages to support global team collaboration

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
