AI Risk Management Supervision, Division Head

[What the role is]

Provide strategic direction and lead a team of supervisors focused on supervision of AI risk management for the financial sector. This position sits with Banking Department II.

[What you will be working on]

  • Oversee the development and implementation of supervisory frameworks and approaches for AI risk management.

  • Work on both broad and technical policy and regulatory issues across the finance sector relating to all aspects of AI

  • Coordinate with whole-of-government agencies on AI related matters that impact the financial sector

  • Work on standards-setting work at international bodies related to AI risk management in finance

  • Work with departments in MAS overseeing the development of AI in finance and contribute to the broader MAS strategy on AI

  • Drive research and analysis on emerging AI trends, risks, and mitigation techniques relevant to finance.

  • Manage team resources, project timelines, and deliverables.

[What we are looking for]

  • Extensive experience in AI governance, AI risk management and/or AI implementation in the financial sector.

  • Good understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management principles for financial institutions.

  • Experience with financial regulation or supervision is valued.

  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and complex projects.

  • Deep understanding of AI, machine learning technologies, data science, with a strong interest to stay current with rapidly evolving AI technologies and regulatory landscapes.

  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with experience in engagement of diverse stakeholders.

  • Relevant advanced degrees in fields like AI, Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or a related highly quantitative field.
