Job Summary
As the AI Principal Technologist, you will serve as Fischer Homes’ senior technical leader for Enterprise AI. This role balances strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution, guiding pilots from concept to production, ensuring secure and compliant integrations, and mentoring IT and business teams on responsible AI adoption. You will play a key role in shaping Fischer Homes’ enterprise AI vision and operations to deliver measurable business outcomes.
This position is 100% onsite, day 1 in our Erlanger, KY office.

These skills will be used to:
- Define and execute the enterprise AI vision and roadmap, aligned with Fischer Homes’ business goals and risk posture.
- Chair the AI Steering Committee and oversee governance, compliance, and model lifecycle management.
- Lead the design and development of AI architectures for large-scale, secure, and cost-efficient integrations.
- Evaluate and onboard AI vendors and platforms, ensuring technical, legal, and financial due diligence.
- Drive the operationalization of AI pilots, establishing acceptance criteria, testing, canary deployments, and clean production handoffs.
- Establish and monitor AI performance metrics, including adoption, SLA compliance, cost management, and business impact.
- Mentor teams on LLMOps best practices, including model versioning, testing, monitoring, and observability.
- Collaborate across departments—IT, Legal, Finance, and Security—to align AI initiatives with enterprise standards.
- Provide executive advisement on AI investments, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead critical incident response for AI-related escalations and vendor outages as needed.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and help guide Fischer Homes’ responsible AI evolution.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 8+ years of experience leading enterprise IT or AI programs.
- Experience deploying AI or machine learning models in production environments.
- Familiarity with ChatGPT Enterprise, Anthropic, or other LLM vendors.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure AI, Purview, Sentinel, Power BI, and observability tools.
Preferred:
- Certifications such as Azure AI Engineer or equivalent
- Proven success leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex enterprise technology initiatives from strategy through production.
- Demonstrated experience taking AI/ML initiatives from pilot to production, with familiarity in LLMOps concepts.
- Expertise in governance, compliance, and vendor due diligence, with strong communication skills across executive and technical audiences.
- Excellent presentation and executive communication skills.
Physical demands and work environment:
- Must have use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through use of the telephone and face-to-face contact.
- Must have the capability to effectively use and operate various items of office-related equipment such as but not limited to the computer, calculator, copier, and printers.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time with low periods of reaching and standing.
- Must be able to travel to company offices, division locations, or field sites as required.
