Your Opportunity
Manage daily operations to ensure alignment of system needs and staff to exceed expectations for product delivery.
Core Responsibilities
Responsible to ensure semen is transported from the producer (boar stud) to the customer (sow farm) while adhering to all Smithfield Hog Production policies and procedures (includes safety, biosecurity, and HR).
Communicates orders from the customer to the producer in a timely manner to ensure orders are filled.
Responsible for maintaining the fleet of vehicles to ensure they are safe for drivers and suitable to transport semen.
Maintain the semen depot including logging temperatures from the time of pick up to the time of delivery of semen.
Makes daily decisions of adjusting routes due to inclement weather and communicates schedules to customers.
Responsible for scheduling the 16 delivery routes while making certain to adhere to strict biosecurity guidelines.
Oversee couriers to ensure timely delivery of semen across system.
Support and develop a high-performing team that collaboratively achieves goals and exceeds all company expectations through cross-training and effective scheduling.
Actively implement and improve a delivery team that exceeds implementation system that meets expectations relating to service and cost.
Participate in the production forecasting to actively manage contingency, depop/repop and supply logistics.
Create and lead a culture of high biosecurity implementation.
Develop culture where employees can express concerns by listening and reacting to provide necessary resources to do job safely and biosecure.
Generate and report the weekly KPI’s.
Manage vehicle fleet by maintaining regular service and project replacement needs of vehicles.
Incumbent will be responsible for understanding and complying with company SIPS, EMS and BMS policies and procedures while performing their job duties.
Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor.
Read and understand the company’s emergency notification process and will be responsible for reviewing that policy at their work site.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships both within and outside the organization.
Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Prior supervisor experience preferred
Logistics experience preferred
Boar stud production experience preferred
Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record required
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct supervision of couriers
