Reporting to the Director – Operations Engineering, the Business Excellence Manager role involves being in charge of continuously driving a culture of excellence in the organization and enabling waste removal activities using lean and six sigma approaches and tools and guiding actions to a sustainable conclusion.
What a typical day looks like:
Support continuous improvement efforts by assisting in Lean and Six Sigma activities defined in the GBE A3.
Help apply Flex Lean Enterprise principles within assigned departments or processes.
Contribute to identifying waste and reducing process variation to improve consistency and performance.
Use basic Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) tools to support process improvements, cycle time reduction, and elimination of non–value-added activities.
Document, update, and help validate processes and standard work based on best practices.
Participate in identifying and executing Kaizen opportunities and sharing best practices across teams.
Assist with Lean and Six Sigma training sessions and help promote a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
Support assessments using the Continuous Improvement Maturity Tracker (CIMT) and help track actions to close gaps.
Participate in the selection and execution of Lean and Six Sigma projects as part of the engineering team.
Assist in facilitating workshops, Kaizen events, and small group activities supporting ongoing transformation efforts.
Use the Center Point portal to research data, track improvements, and support cost‑saving analysis.
Progress toward Industrial Engineering, Lean, and Six Sigma training and certifications to build subject matter expertise.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
1–3 years of experience in engineering, operations, AI/automation, or continuous improvement roles (internships, co‑ops, and project experience acceptable).
Able to demonstrate solid functional and technical skills, along with a strong internal customer‑focused attitude.
Works effectively as part of a team and contributes to project‑based improvements.
Shows developing expertise in one functional area or growing knowledge across multiple areas; understands how their work supports broader operational and strategic goals.
Capable of supporting and contributing to projects and improvement initiatives with guidance from senior engineers or managers.
Possesses basic financial, analytical, research, and statistical skills to support problem‑solving and decision‑making.
Actively working toward, or already holding, a Lean, Six Sigma, or Industrial Engineering certification (e.g., Yellow Belt or Green Belt).
