About the Role & Program

The Walt Disney Company has spent 100 years immersing audiences in new and stunning experiences using groundbreaking technology. Your work as a Disney intern would inspire innovation and bring fresh perspectives to impact guests and consumers worldwide.

At Disney, we’re storytellers. We make the impossible possible. The Walt Disney Company is a world-class entertainment and technological leader. Walt’s passion was to continuously envision new ways to move audiences around the world—a passion that remains our touchstone in an enterprise that stretches from theme parks, resorts and a cruise line to sports, news, movies and a variety of other businesses. Uniting each endeavor is a commitment to creating and delivering unforgettable experiences — and we’re constantly looking for new ways to enhance these exciting experiences.

The Enterprise Technology mission is to deliver technology solutions that align to business strategies while enabling enterprise efficiency and promoting cross-company collaborative innovation.  The Enterprise Technology organization drives competitive advantage by enhancing our consumer experiences, enabling business growth, and advancing operational excellence.   Our team serves all domestic and international businesses across The Walt Disney Company, including Disney Studios, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, ESPN, ABC, Marvel Studios, and Pixar.

At Disney Corporate you can see how the businesses behind the Company’s powerful brands come together to create the most innovative, far-reaching and admired entertainment company in the world. As a member of a corporate team, you’ll work with world-class leaders driving the strategies that keep The Walt Disney Company at the leading edge of entertainment. See and be seen by other innovative thinkers as you enable the greatest storytellers in the world to create memories for millions of families around the globe.

The AI Automation Intern will help design, build, and improve AI-powered automations that reduce manual effort, streamline business processes, and improve the employee experience.

In this role, you will work with product, engineering, and operations partners to identify opportunities for automation, define measurable success criteria, and implement solutions that combine workflow automation with AI capabilities (for example, document classification, summarization, routing, and assisted decision support).

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys improving how work gets done and is excited to apply modern AI techniques to real operational problems.

If selected for this internship, you will report to a leader within Enterprise Technology.

The dates of this internship are May/June 2026 through August/September 2026.

What You Will Do

In this internship, you will contribute to real solutions that help teams operate more efficiently.

On any given day, you might:

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify high-value manual processes suitable for automation and define requirements and success metrics.

  • Build and iterate on workflow automations using approved enterprise tools (e.g., low-code platforms and/or scripting), including triggers, logic, approvals, notifications, and integrations.

  • Incorporate AI capabilities into automations (e.g., extraction, classification, summarization, intelligent routing, or natural-language interfaces) where appropriate.

  • Implement data handling practices that respect security, privacy, and responsible AI guidelines, including human-in-the-loop review for sensitive decisions.

  • Create dashboards or lightweight reporting to measure adoption, reliability, and impact (time saved, cycle time reduction, error reduction).

  • Document solutions clearly (process maps, runbooks, and “how it works” notes) to support handoff and long-term maintainability.

  • Present outcomes and recommendations to partners at the end of the internship (demo + learnings + next steps).

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience building automations through coursework, projects, internships, or personal work (low-code or code-based).

  • Familiarity with at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar).

  • Comfort working with APIs, JSON, and basic systems integration concepts.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to break down ambiguous problems into clear steps.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort documenting processes and presenting results.

  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Familiarity with workflow automation platforms (e.g., Power Automate or similar) and/or basic RPA concepts.

  • Exposure to modern AI/ML concepts such as prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or model evaluation.

  • Experience working with data tools (SQL fundamentals, data visualization tools such as Power BI/Tableau).

  • Understanding of monitoring and reliability concepts (logging, alerting, error handling, runbooks).

  • Interest in user experience and change management (making automation adoptable and easy to use.)

Education

Currently enrolled as a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or another STEM related field at an accredited college or university.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship

  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information

  • The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2026 through August/September 2026

  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

  • Fully available from Monday-Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours per week
